September is Suicide Awareness Prevention Month
The fact that mental dis-ease is a taboo topic is the primary reason that so many people go untreated. This is especially true for Black American males. As September is Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month, we are focusing on the hard truth that no one ones to hear, suicide is one of the top ten causes of death. For Black American young men and adolescents, suicide soars to the third-leading cause of death.
Feelings are guidance
To understand where we are on the mental and emotional spectrum of balance, we can look to our feelings. Feelings are our internal guidance system. They let us know when we are off balance, and on track. If you are feeling any of the symptoms of imbalance listed on the left, you likely have an imbalance of neurotransmitters in your body. There’s a simple test to find out, so talk to your doctor about your neurotransmitter levels on your next visit.

The fairly tale that we have been taught that things can make us happy is revealed once the job, love or financial status of our dreams appear to be elusive.
